Northern wilderness along the Ewaso Nyiro — home of the "Samburu Special Five".
Samburu is a rugged, semi-arid reserve in northern Kenya along the lifeline of the Ewaso Nyiro River. It’s the only place to easily see the “Samburu Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, gerenuk and Somali ostrich — alongside elephant, leopard and lion.
Doum palms line the river, and visits to Samburu manyattas add a strong cultural dimension.
