Moorland, waterfalls and bamboo forest along Kenya's wild central range.
The Aberdares are a 160 km mountain range north of Nairobi, rising to 4,001 m at Ol Donyo Lesatima. The park protects high-altitude moorland, dense bamboo, elephant trails and Kenya’s tallest waterfalls — Karuru, Gura and the Chania Falls.
Treks range from gentle moorland walks to the full Lesatima or Elephant Hill traverse. Wildlife includes elephant, buffalo, black rhino, the rare bongo and leopard.
June–March; the moorland gets very wet April–May.
