Mt. Ololokwe

A sacred Samburu table mountain rising from the northern desert.

Ol Donyo Sabachi — Mt. Ololokwe — is a 2,000 m sandstone massif sacred to the Samburu people. The route climbs steeply through dry forest to a flat summit plateau, where cycads, ancient junipers and dramatic cliff edges look out over the endless plains of northern Kenya.

It’s remote, quiet and unforgettable — one of the most spiritual hikes in the country.
