Amboseli National Park

Big-tusked elephants beneath the snow-capped pyramid of Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli is the home of Kenya’s most photographed elephants, with the snow-capped summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro forming a permanent backdrop. The park’s swamps, fed by underground meltwater from Kili, attract huge herds of elephant, buffalo, hippo and over 400 bird species.

Open plains and dust make for cinematic photography, especially at sunrise and sunset.
