Lake Baringo is a freshwater jewel in the northern Rift Valley, ringed by red cliffs and dotted with islands. It’s one of the best birding sites in Africa with more than 470 species recorded, including the rare Hemprich’s hornbill and Verreaux’s eagle.

Boat trips bring you close to hippo, crocodile and fish eagles, and the nearby Lake Bogoria adds flamingos and geysers.
