Lake Nakuru National Park

Rhinos, Rothschild's giraffe and flamingo-rimmed shores three hours from Nairobi.

Lake Nakuru is a compact, scenic park around a soda lake famous for its huge flocks of flamingos and pelicans. It’s a Rhino Sanctuary protecting both black and white rhino, the easiest place in Kenya to see the rare Rothschild’s giraffe, and home to tree-climbing lions and leopards.

Baboon Cliff and Lion Hill viewpoints look out over the lake and forest — the perfect overnight or long day-trip from Nairobi.
